Lorraine is a London based illustrator. Longlisted in 2020 for the Templar Publishing Awards, she also created an online resource, based on gender, for the Kate Greenaway Award 2021.
Lorraine enjoys black line artwork, creating patterns, and combining digital illustration with traditional printing techniques, with a particular fondness for Riso printing. Much of Lorraine’s work leans towards retro styling. Growing up surrounded by comics, she loves simple lines and shapes, using characters for comedic value and expression.
Lorraine’s love of storytelling and previous experience as a librarian has made her passionate about books and illustration in all forms, particularly as a platform for early and reluctant readers.
Lorraine explored the topic of gender in her research and projects and will be starting an MA in children’s picture books at Anglia Ruskin University later this year.
