Jayne Armes is an illustrator specialising in editorial and children’s book publishing. She predominantly works with traditional media such as gouache and watercolour but also enjoys combining digital processes and creating animation. Her work harmonises strong compositions with evocative colour stories that have often been described as nostalgic and whimsical. Colour is always at the forefront of Jayne’s mind, and is something she instinctively begins every project with. Through understanding colour, she can develop a distinct visual style in keeping with a specific narrative.
In the coming year, Jayne is to begin an MA in Children’s Books and Graphic Novels at Middlesex University, while continuing to work as a freelance illustrator.
